Your Role
As a Senior Geologist, you’ll be a key member of our German Geoscience team, responsible for integrating and interpreting subsurface data to build a robust understanding of Vermilion’s German asset portfolio. Your work will support both development and exploration activities, helping to mature growth opportunities and unlock additional potential within existing producing assets. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where decisions are made quickly, and where your technical expertise will play a direct role in shaping future growth.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality subsurface geological evaluations through subsurface data integration and analysis (well logs, core, seismic, dynamic data) in order to generate workover, drilling and other field re-development opportunities seeking to maximize the value of the producing assets.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of German production and exploration licenses to identify opportunities and support asset and license maturation and long-term planning.
- High grade Vermilion Germany’s opportunity portfolio through detailed subsurface analysis and incorporating uncertainty and risk assessments.
- Drive the maturation of drilling proposals, including documentation, monitoring of operations, analysis of results and lookbacks.
- Participate in technical assurance reviews as well as in business development opportunities
- Support reserves and resources booking.
- Assess open acreage and recommend to apply for new Exploration licenses.
What You Bring
- Broad based and rounded Geoscience graduate (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years’ industry experience with strong technical proficiency.
- Background in field development and production geology, particularly in mature fields having identified workover, drilling and other field re-development opportunities.
- A track record of proposing prospects and following these through the planning and drilling phase.
- High proficiency in industry software (e.g. Kingdom, REP, Petrel).
- Proficiency in English is required, knowledge of German a strong benefit
- International experience would be preferred, with experience of German basins a plus
- A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and confidence to take initiative.
